I come from the legendary Bergstrom family, where my three uncles dominated the sport and collected multiple South African titles. My parents ran the iconic Hammersdale track for years and served on the national commission, helping shape the rules, direction, and golden era of motocross in South Africa.
I grew up trackside, spending countless weekends watching world-class international riders tear it up during the boom of motocross and supercross: the era that shaped my passion.
Both my brother and I raced at national level with solid success, and Sean Gaugain went even further, carving out an incredible career on the World Grand Prix circuit as a mechanic for Steven Sword, Kenneth Gundersen, and the Factory KTM and Kawasaki teams. Today, he runs a thriving dealership in Dubai and remains deeply involved in motocross and desert racing, whether on two wheels or four.
Motocross isn’t just a sport for us: it’s our heritage. It’s our life.
